Luxury Canine Boarding Suites
at
East Towne Pet Clinic
General Information:
Treat & Retreat boarding suites are designed to provide a safe, clean, healthy, and fun environment for dogs who need a home-away-from-home while their families are away.

The large private rooms feature raised beds with soft mattresses, fleece bedding, quiet music throughout the day, and ceramic food and water dishes.
The fenced outdoor play area has both grass and (for digging) wood bark surfaces to play on, shady spots to rest, toys to play with, and a wading pool during the summer months.

The large indoor play area is available for times when the weather is too hot or too cold for your pet to be outdoors comfortably.
Dogs with special medical needs are welcome at Treat & Retreat. Our staff is trained to administer medications as needed, and our veterinarians are always on call.
Activities
First thing in the morning, all dogs are taken to the play area for bathroom needs and then fed their morning meal. With their family's permission, dogs who are well-socialized are matched by size to play in groups. Individual playtimes are provided for any dog by request, including quieter or elderly dogs. Playtimes are offered for everyone two or three times per day. Medications are administered on the same schedule they would be at home. In the evening, dogs are fed dinner and let outside one last time to relieve themselves before lights out.
Dogs are offered special frozen kong treats to keep them occupied while in their rooms. To further promote relaxation, soft music is played continuously.
Boarding Requirements
In order to provide a healthy environment, all dogs who stay at Treat & Retreat must meet the following requirements:
- Current rabies, distemper, and kennel cough (Bordatella) vaccines.
- Heartworm preventative and flea control regimens.
- Negative fecal exam.
- Be spayed or neutered if over 12 months of age.
Veterinary services, including vaccines, can be provided by East Towne Pet Clinic at the time of boarding.
In addition, all dogs are checked for fleas prior to check-in, and each dog will have a precautionary stool sample exam to check for internal parasites as soon as possible after check-in.
Every dog who stays at Treat & Retreat needs to be well-socialized. Dogs will not be allowed to stay with us if a stranger cannot safely put on a collar and leash for playtimes or if the dog is aggressive towards other animals. If this occurs during a stay, the dog will be moved to the East Towne Pet Clinic veterinary hospital facilities.
Complete grooming services are available at East Towne Pet Clinic and can be provided during your dog's stay with us.
Preparing for your pet's stay:
Forms to fill out prior to check-in:
There are three forms and additional information from your veterinarian that will need to be completed or updated when your pet stays with us:
- Pet Information Form: A separate form is needed for each pet that will be staying with us. A staff member will review this with you when checking in so that we know exactly what your pet needs while staying with us. A special form will be filled out if your pet has diabetes so that we can ensure continuation of the right care for your pet.
- Family Information Form: Your contact information, emergency contact information, and credit card number and signatures will be required.
- Policies and Charges Form: This provides information about all of our health status and socialization requirements for your pet, room rates & other charges if needed, our hours for checking in and out, and other important information.
- For pets who are not regular patients at East Towne Pet Clinic, we will need to have documentation of your pet's heartworm & flea control medications and vaccine status at least 24 hours in advance of checking in. You may bring the required records with you, or have your veterinarian fax this information to us at fax # 244-2629, or we can obtain health records for you from your veterinarian for our files.
Food and water:
- Ceramic food and water dishes are supplied. Dishes that are just the right size for your pet can be chosen when you bring your pet to stay with us. All dishes are washed and sanitized daily in our dishwasher.
- You are encouraged to bring your pet's own food with you.
- If you prefer, we will provide a premium dry food (Science Diet or Royal Canin) for your pet. Please keep in mind that a change in diet, even to a premium brand of food, can cause loose stools if not introduced gradually.
- You are welcome to bring special treats or food supplements for your pet.
Medications:
- We welcome pets who have special medical needs. Please only bring medications with you that are still in the original bottle or container.
- Please bring heartworm preventative and flea control medications with you if they are to be given in the timeframe that your pet will be staying with us. We will provide these medications at our normal charge for you if you forget to bring them for your pet.
Toys:
You are welcome to bring special toys for your pet. Please keep in mind that it is not always possible to keep track of toys for pets, so do not bring any items that are valuable or irreplaceable. We will need to be able to mark toys with a permanent marker pen.
Blankets, pillows, rugs, etc.:
You are welcome to bring special bedding for your pet. Again, please do not bring bedding that is valuable or irreplaceable. These items may need to be permanently marked as well.
